Franchise System Assessment & Certification
Applying FranchiseRight System criteria, a franchise industry-specific, proprietary methodology of Total Organizational Excellence, to your franchise prototype, as well as the franchise system, assures that the respective operations are better positioned for initial and long-term success and exit. If you are already selling franchises, FranchiseRight can help accelerate your growth! We will get you on the “Right” track for controlled expansion and a profitable exit. Implement our “best-in-class” approach to franchising and you’ll qualify for FranchiseRight Certification (by achievement level) and possibly win a FranchiseRight Excellence Award.
Assessment. FranchiseRight education, planning, structuring, and training, based on the specifications in the FranchiseRight System; provides the detailed guidance that franchisors need to accelerate current operations. Our Assessment of franchise systems looks at operations (compliance, reporting, billing); franchise marketing (advertising, sales, interviewing, selection, qualification, and negotiation); franchisee services (training, unit opening, field inspection, central services and other support); and every other key area of franchisor responsibility. But, more importantly, we examine the viability and sustainability of the organization as a whole. Are you running the best franchise system possible? We will identify “opportunities for improvement” and help you create the foundation for continuous improvement, procedural standardization, and knowledge management.
Certification. Qualifying companies can apply for FranchiseRight Certification, an international branding and certification designation which is recognized by prospective franchisees, industry professionals, and investors as an indicator of industry excellence, legal compliance, and mutuality in the franchise relationship. Annual re-examination and re-certification permit the uninterrupted use of the FranchiseRight logo and specific level of achievement on our comparative scale. Although our Certification is unique to the franchise industry, our approach overlaps the outstanding measurement criteria of Six Sigma for controlling quality, obtaining cost savings, and driving process improvement; ISO 9000 for modeling product/service conformity, and the Malcolm Baldrige Foundation’s process for assessing organizational performance excellence.
Process. FranchiseRight has a 6-step Assessment and Certification process (each step can be engaged separately or successively). Following Assessment, Visioning, and Strategic Planning, our improvement team can help franchisors implement a “best-in-class” system. Periodic measurement helps franchisors maintain performance excellence. We also provide training for self-assessment and the implementation of an internally-monitored Total Organizational Excellence approach.
What make the FranchiseRight approach different?
Without undertaking significant evaluation, the typical franchise developer or consultant assumes that the prototype business presented by the entrepreneur is readily duplicatable. While they may have the FTC-compliant documents legally necessary to sell franchises, the entrepreneur is charged with creating a viable franchise system often without any education, guidance, or structuring for “best practices.” Currently, no independent third-party examination or certification method is widely known to the franchise purchaser and, without such certification, it can be difficult for them to select a franchisor based on defined performance criteria. Franchise systems developed and operated using our proprietary FranchiseRight methods are exemplary organizations. They meet assessment guidelines and can be certified each year as “best-in-class” companies that serve their franchisees and deliver value to customers. Ask FranchiseRight what it means to operate a business at “world-class” standards!
